Overseas based swimmers barred from Karl Dalhouse Meet

Voices of the ASAJ's Georgia Sinclair and Martin Lyn

Radio Jamaica Sports understands that some of the nation’s overseas based swimmers are disgruntled after being told that they will not be allowed to compete at the Karl Dalhouse Memorial Invitational Swim Meet next month.

A notification about this year’s meet states that due to Covid-19 protocols, the organizers are unable to accommodate participants from outside the country.

Aquatic Sports Association of Jamaica (ASAJ) vice president Georgia Sinclair told Radio Jamaica Sports that the directive is as a result of the government's policy on overseas athletes.

Meanwhile, ASAJ president Martin Lyn says the association is not willing to make an exception to the rule which may affect their ability to stage events going forward.
