Pacer Joseph impresses on opening day of Windies' warm-up game

West Indies fast bowler Alzarri Joseph had the best returns for the Caribbean men on the opening day of their day/night warm-up game against the Prime Minister’s X1 in Canberra. Joseph ended with figures of 3-52 as the Prime Minister's X1 reached stumps at 297-9.

In summing up conditions on the opening day, Joseph explained that the bowlers had to adjust to different phases of the game in order to reap success. Roston Chase was next best for the West Indies men, picking up 2-72.

Kemar Roach, Jayden Seales, Raymon Reifer and Kyle Mayers all had one wicket each.

Earlier, the opening pair of Matthew Renshaw, 81, and Marcus Harris, 73, shared in a 134 run first wicket partnership before Peter Handscomb, 55, and Ashton Agar, 33, added useful contributions.

This is the final warm-up game for the West Indies ahead of their first of two tests against Australia starting next week .
