PFJL secures more sponsorship for the Jamaica Premier League

Even as the resumption of the Jamaica Premier League remains on hold, the Professional Football Jamaica Limited (PFJL) has continued its search and acquisitions of sponsorship with former title sponsors, Red Stripe among the latest additions.

Red Stripe is however returning as an associate sponsor and was recently signed on board along with Kemtek Development and Construction Limited and Conserve It Limited, as well as Yummy Bakery and Jamaica Producers Limited.

Sponsorship continues to be sought for the league and the clubs, with the PFJL targeting $100 million for club sponsorship.

Meanwhile, Radio Jamaica Sports understands that while the PFJL has moved away from the traditional title sponsorship to allow more sponsors on board, the new body as added a Presenting sponsor category, with Digicel expected to fill that spot.

Broadcast plans are also being finalized for the new season. The Jamaica Football Federation (JFF) and the PFJL are currently awaiting approval from the government for the resumption of competitive football on the island including the Premier League which had orginally been earmarked for a restart in November 2020

The 2019/2020 season had ended prematurely in March 2020 with the JFF declaring the season null and void following the national shutdown by the government because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
