Portmore United and Waterhouse withdraw from CONCACAF Caribbean Club Championship

Report by RJRGLEANER Communications Group Sports Reporter Kayon Raynor

The fallout from the continued lockdown of football on the island has resulted in Premier League outfits Portmore United and Waterhouse FC pulling the plug on their expected participation in the Flow CONCACAF Caribbean Club Championship.

Both teams, who were down to contest the semi-final stage of the next month's competition in the Dominican Republic, withdrew out of frustration of not being able to properly prepare for the competition.

Both teams were scheduled to play semi-final round matches on May 16. According to well-placed sources, Waterhouse and Portmore wrote to CONCACAF last Friday, April 2, indicating their inability to fulfill their obligations.
