Racers Grand Prix cancelled for the second year running

Voice of Chairman of the Organizing Committee for the Racers Grand Prix Glen Mills

For the second year on the trot, the Racers Grand Prix, which forms part of the World Athletics Continental Tour gold tier meets, has been cancelled.

Confirmation came from Chairman of the Organizing Committee, Glen Mills, who told Radio Jamaica Sports that the difficulties brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic, forced the decision.

However, Mills is not worried that the event could lose its gold tier status on the Continental Tour after being unable to stage the meet for two straight years.

He said they’ve communicated the present scenario to World Athletics and the Continental Tour organizers, noting that they have been quite understanding.
