Rain forces no result in first T20 international

Rain forced a no result in the first T20 International between the West Indies and Bangladesh at Windsor Park in Dominica on Saturday.

After a wet outfield delayed the start for over 90 minutes, the game was reduced to 16 overs.

Bangladesh who were sent in to bat, suffered a first over disaster by losing Munim Shahreeah for 2.

There was a 34 run second wicket stand between Anamul Haque 16 and Shakib al Hasan 29.

But after Obed McCoy dismissed Haque, it was a procession thereafter as they slipped from 56-2 to 77-7 when rain forced another reduction after 14 overs.

They eventually limped to 105-8 after 13 overs when a second downpour forced an abrupt end to the innings.
That delay then ensured the game had to be called off as the cut off point for the game to restart had passed.

The second match takes place at the same venue on Sunday starting at 12:30 pm Jamaica time.
