Reggae Boy Burke rejoins MLS outfit Philadelphia Union

Voice of Reggae Boy Cory Burke

National player Cory Burke is returning to the US Major League (MLS) after a year and four months of waiting. Burke, who lost his visa in May of last year, was on Tuesday  granted a work permit visa that will now see him rejoining the Philadelphia Union for the rest of the MLS season.

An elated Burke, who left the island on Tuesday afternoon, told Radio Jamaica Sports, it feels good going back where he belongs.

The 28 year old striker had challenges renewing his visa in 2019 and his club Philadelphia Union subsequently loaned him out to Portmore United and SKN St Polten in Austria.

Burke scored 12 goals in 36 appearances in his first season with the Union in 2018. He has netted six goals in 16 appearances for the Reggae Boyz.
