Reggae Boy Mariappa returns to training after recovering from Covid 19

Reggae Boyz defender Adrian Mariappa is back in training after recently testing positive for the coronavirus. Mariappa was one of six positive results to have come back from the Premier League's first round of testing, with two other Watford staff members also completing a seven-day period of isolation, as confirmed by the hornets last week.

Mariappa who has made over 300 appearances for Watford, took part in shooting and defensive drills in Thursday's session. Thursday was the first day where players were able to train as a group and engage in tackling while minimizing unnecessary close contact.

Players and staff will continue to be tested twice a week for coronavirus during stage two of project restart. The decision to return to contact training was agreed following consultation with clubs, players, managers, the Professional Football Association (PFA) and the League Managers Association (LMA).
