Head coach of the Jamaica Tallawahs and former West Indies interim coach Floyd Reifer is the new coach of the West Indies Under 19 team. Cricket West Indies (CWI) announced Reifer's appointment on Thursday.
Reifer who is the current head coach of the West Indies emerging player and high performance programmes, will lead the squad's preparation for the ICC Under-19 World Cup to be played in the Caribbean early next year.
CWI says Reifer was chosen because of his impressive track record in building and coaching successful development teams, including the UWI Blackbirds, the Combined Campuses and Colleges, the West Indies emerging players and the West Indies “A” team. Reifer was also the batting coach for the senior West Indies team on the recent tour of England last summer.
