Russell and Narine on losing end with KKR in their IPL opener

Jamaican Andre Russell, Trinidadian Sunil Narine and the Kolkatta Knight Riders lost to the defending champions, the Mumbai Indians by 49 runs in match 5 of the Indian Premier League for 2020 on Wednesday.

Batting first, the Mumbai Indians posted 195-5 off their 20 overs with Rohit Sharma top scoring with 80.

Narine and Russell took a wicket each for the Knight Riders. In reply the Knight Riders were restricted to 146-9 off their 20 overs. Russell made 11, while Narine got 9.

IPL action continues on Thursday as Chris Gayle, Sheldon Cottrell, Nicholas Pooran and the Kings X1 Punjab battle the Royal Challengers Bangalore.
