Scorpions hoping to find consistent opening partnership

Voice of Jamaica Scorpions head coach Andre Coley

The Jamaica Scorpions are expected to once again pin hopes on left-hander Alwyn Williams as the partner for John Campbell at the top of the order for the 2020/21 season.

Williams who was retained by the Scorpions in the recent CWI Player Draft, had an injury hit season, playing just four of the Scorpions' eight games in the 4-day championship last season.

However, he's yet to establish himself, averaging just 7 in five matches.

But, head coach Andre Coley feels Williams has the ability to develop.

Williams is only the latest in a long list of openers to be used by the franchise in the last two seasons.

At least eight different batsmen were used to open for the Scorpions during the 2018-19 season.
