Scorpions in tense battle with Jaguars

The Jamaica Scorpions lead the Guyana Jaguars by 47 runs with seven second innings wickets in hand at stumps on Friday’s second day of their 4th round regional 4-day encounter at the Providence Stadium in Guyana. At the close of play, the visitors reached 50-3.

John Campbell, Nicholson Gordon and Jermaine Blackwood were the wickets to fall for 31, 1 and a duck respectively. Veerasammy Permaul has so far taken 2-9 for the Jaguars. Earlier in the day, the Jaguars were bowled out for 190 inside 84 overs.

Patrick Harty and Jamie Merchant took three wickets each for the Scorpions. Chanderpaul Hemraj top scored with 38. Scores in the match so far: Jamaica Scorpions 187 and 50-3; the Guyana Jaguars 190. The Scorpions are searching for their first win this season.
