Scorpions lose their opening Super50 game to Red Force

The Jamaica Scorpions went down by 5 wickets to the Trinidad and Tobago Red Force in their opening match of the regional Super50 tournament at the North Sound Ground in Antigua on Thursday. batting first, the Scorpions posted 258-6.

Brandon King fell three runs short a century, while Rovman Powell made 43 and Andre McCarthy 40. Anderson Phillip took 3-40 for the Red Force. In reply, the Red Force led by a century from Evin Lewis, posted 259-5 in 40.5 overs to achieve victory.

Lewis cracked 107 off 92 balls including 8 fours and 7 sixes. Daren Bravo also weighed in with 59 and Nicholas Pooran 43. McCarthy took 2-40 and Dennis Bulli 2-84. The Scorpions will next be in action on Sunday when they face the Guyana Jaguars at the Coolidge Cricket Ground.
