The organizers of the SDC National Community T20 Cricket Competition have been given the greenlight from the government to run from August 23 to December 13.
The event which is the most popular cricket competition in Jamaica, will become the third sport in the local arena to resume after the COVID-19 lockdown, with horse racing and track and field having done so in June and July respectively.
The competition which involves over 250 teams will be contested over 13 weekends and the organizers say they will only have 250 spectators at each game with government protocols being implemented at each venue.
Tournament Director Terrence Richards says they have adopted some of the international and Jamaica Cricket Association policies for players on the field. The winning team will take home $1.3 million.
