Simmons praises batting unit for performance in Sri Lanka test series

Report by RJRGLEANER Communications Group Sports Reporter Jerome Foster

West Indies coach Phil Simmons lauded the batting unit following their drawn two test series against Sri Lanka which ended on Friday at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua.

The 0-0 scoreline in the two test series was the first drawn series in test cricket since 2015, but for coach Phil Simmons there is more to celebrate than the stalemate.

The Caribbean team are set to host South Africa in a full tour following the Indian Premier League (IPL) which starts next Friday.
