Sports medicine physician Dr Paul Wright has accused local sports administrators of not taking the health of athletes seriously.
Speaking in light of the recent passing of former Reggae Boy Tremaine Stewart who collapsed and died while playing football at the weekend, Dr Wright has once again echoed calls for mandatory heart screening of athletes.
Dr Wright also believes the time is now for associations to test all national representatives before they are allowed to represent the country, given the uncertainties of the coronavirus.
Earlier this year, college and university student- athletes in the United States who contracted Covid-19, were required to 'do an ECG before returning to competition.
