Sunshine Girls captain Jhaniele Fowler has hailed the team's dominant display against Trinidad and Tobago’s Calypso Girls which saw them seal a 3-0 series win following a 73-22 victory in the final game of the Sunshine Tri Series on Wednesday night at the National Indoor Sports Centre.
They had quarterly leads of 17-7; 40-10 and 57-16. This was the Sunshine Girls' widest margin of victory in the series following 71-22 and 64-32 victories in the first two encounters
Fowler scored 41 goals from 46 attempts in Wednesday’s contest. Fowler was named the series MVP, while goalkeeper Shamera Sterling was adjudged Jamaica's Player of the Game.
The series will close out on Friday with the Sunshine Girls playing a Jamaican men's team in an exhibition game.
Following this series, the Sunshine Girls are due to travel to England for a three match series in November and December.
