Supreme Soul draws gate 7 for Caribbean Classic

Trainer Anthony Nunes’ 2019 Triple Crown winner Supreme Soul will run from gate 7 with ante-post odds of 15-1 for the Caribbean International Classic over 9 furlongs at Gulfstream Park in Florida on Sunday. The classic is having its second staging in Miami and this is the first time Jamaican horses will run at the Classic in that city and the first time in the event since 2008.

Supreme Soul will be joined by local bred Juice Man, the Trinidad Derby winner. Juice Man, going in at odds of 20-1, was conditioned in Jamaica by Nunes before going to Trinidad. The last Jamaican horse to participate in the Caribbean Classic was the Fitznahum Williams-trained Triple Crown winner Alsafra in 2008. Alsafra was unplaced in the race. Sunday’s race which has a total purse of US $300,000, is set to be run at 4:44 pm.
