In the West Indies women's first practice match since arriving in England, Stafanie Taylor’s X1 defeated Deandra Dottin's X1 by 8 runs in Derby on Monday.
Batting first, Taylor's X1 posted 131-6 with Taylor sparkling with 71 from 52 balls. Her knock included 9 fours. She was supported by Brittney Cooper with 24.
Alliah Alleyne 3-35 and Shakera Selman 2-15, were the pick of the bowlers.
In response, Dottin led her team off to a brisk start with 41 from 43 balls but watched as her X1 faded to 123.
Sheneta Grimmond and Shamilia Connel took two wickets each for Taylor's X1. The Windies women will oppose their English counterparts in the first of five T20 Internationals starting on Monday.
