Three Jamaicans to enter MLS 2021 Draft

Jamaican international Javain Brown and former national youth players Justin McMaster and Jahmali Waite will be entering Thursday's Major League Soccer (MLS) Draft.

Brown, McMaster and Waite are three out of 176 players who will be in the draft. The 21 year old defender Brown, formerly of Kingston College, is in the draft following his performances for the University of South Florida over the last three years.

The former Hillel Academy forward McMaster is in the mix for a draft pick after netting 27 goals in 57 games for Wake Forrest University since 2017. Goalkeeper Waite is in the reckoning after impressive games with the University of Connecticut.

Only 86 players of the 176 will be drafted by MLS franchises. At least one Jamaican has been drafted to the MLS every year since 2012. The draft is scheduled for 2:00 pm Jamaica time on Thursday.
