Top four contenders draw favourable positions for Jamaica Derby

The top four contenders for the 100th running of the Jamaica Derby have drawn post positions five to eight for the 12 furlong blue ribband event on Saturday at Caymanas Park.

St Leger winner Nipster with Linton Steadman will be coming out of gate number 5 , while 2000 Guineas winner and St Leger runner-up Wow Wow to be partnered by Robert Halledeen has drawn post position 7.

Their stable companion, the speedy Another Affair to be ridden by Jerome Innis will be coming out of gate number 4.

Oneofakind who finished third in the St Leger and to be ridden by Dane Nelson, has drawn post position 6 between Nipster and Wow Wow. 

Green Gold Rush to be partnered by Shane Ellis who has scored five derby wins, will be coming out gate number 10.

The line-up is completed by Money Monster with Orlando Foster from gate number 1, Shepanza drawn in post position 2 with Dick Cardenas, Double Crown coming out of gate 3 with Dane Dawkins, King Arthur drawn at gate 10 and now to be ridden by Phillip Parchment, replacing Anthony Thomas who will instead be aboard stable companion Fearless Champion who will break from gate 11. The winning connections will take home $3.7 million.
