Uncertainty remains about resumption of local cricket

Report by RJRGLEANER Communications Group Sports Reporter Jerome Foster

Though the government has invited sporting associations to resubmit their applications for the resumption of competition, local cricketers may not be playing competitively anytime soon.

Sports Minister Olivia Grange recently announced that the government will now look to have sporting events resume on a case by case basis.

But it appears that young batsmen and bowlers won't get the chance to play competitively on the island anytime soon, at least according to JCA CEO Courtney Francis.

Competitive cricket has been on a complete shutdown on the island ever since the first confirmed COVID-19 case in March last year.
