Velocity fest gets upgraded status

When the MVP Velocity Fest meets are staged on March 25 and April 23 at the National Stadium, they will form part of the World Athletics Continental tour for this year.

The continental tour has already started with meets in Australia and chairman of the Velocity Fest organizing committee Bruce James sees the move as a step in the right direction for Jamaican athletics.
 
There are four levels for the Continental Tour - gold, silver, bronze and challenger. The Velocity Fest meets will be at the challenger level.
