West Indies continue to dominate first test against Bangladesh

The West Indies continue to hold the advantage against Bangladesh in the first test at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua, holding an overall lead of 112 runs at stumps on Friday’s second day.

The visitors closed the day in their second innings at 50-2. Mahmudul Hasan Joy 18 and Najmul Hossain Shanto 8 are the men at the crease.

Alzarri Joseph has so far taken the two wickets to fall. Earlier, captain Kraigg Brathwaite fell six runs short of an 11th test century in the Windies 265 all out in their first innings.

Brathwaite made 94 from 268 balls, while Jermaine Blackwood contributed 63 as the two shared in a 63 run fourth wicket stand.

Jamaica’s Nkrumah Bonner made 33, while debutant Gudakesh Motie ended unbeaten on 23 to go with 24 made by John Campbell.

Mehidy Hasan Miraz was the pick of the Bangladeshi bowlers with 4 for 59.
