Windies hunt World Cup points against Ireland

Report by RJRGLEANER Communications Group Sports Reporter Jerome Foster

West Indies captain Kieron Pollard says the overwhelming favourites tag for the West Indies team ahead of their three match ODI series against Ireland on Saturday makes it important for them to improve on particular areas for the future.

The series is part of the ICC Super League qualification phase for the World Cup, but Pollard is not taking the visitors likely.

The Trinidadian also wants to use the series as a bench mark especially after poor performances in the T20 World Cup and in the T20 series against Pakistan in December.

Meanwhile, Ireland's experienced spinner George Dockrell fancies the visitors creating an upset. The match bowls off at 9:30 am.
