Windies Women beat Ireland Women in World Cup qualifier

The West Indies Women scored a comfortable 6 wicket win over Ireland Women in their opening game of the ICC Women's 50 over World Cup qualifiers in Harare, Zimbabwe on Tuesday.


Chasing 160 for victory, the Windies women posted 163-4 off 39.3 overs. They were led by Deandra Dottin who top scored with 73 and captain Stafanie Taylor 41 not out.

Two other Jamaicans, Rashada Williams and Chedean Nation made 8 and 17. Eimear Richardson took 2-33 for the Irish women.

Earlier, Ireland were dismissed for 159 in 43 overs after being sent to bat. Anisa Mohammed grabbed 3-40, while Taylor took 2-19 and Hayley Matthews 2-20 for the Windies women. Gaby Lewis made 36 and Richardson 32 for Ireland.
