Managing Director of the Jamaica Stock Exchange Dr. Marlene Street Forrest says the number of investors in the stock market jumped 14,000 to 360,000 as at the end of September.
This, she says, is attributable to the JSE's investor education and outreach programmes.
Dr. Street Forrest adds that these numbers are likely to increase due to the current investor education week celebrations and seminars, which will continue into next week when the focus will be on younger investors.
