BOJ assets surge to $1.17 trillion

The Bank of Jamaica's balance sheet or statement of assets and liabilities, which was released on November 13 indicated that its assets surged to 1.17 trillion as at the end of November this year compared with $1.04 trillion for the similar period last year.
 
Total capital reserves amounted to $72.77 billion in November 2024, compared with $58.28 billion last year.
 
Meanwhile, the amount of money or notes and coins in circulation climbed to $261.72 billion on November 13 this year, compared with $248.46 billion on November 8, 2023.
 
The data also revealed that take-up of the central bank's digital currency remains sluggish as the balance increased marginally to $257.42 million this month compared with $257.21 million in November, 2023.
