The Bank of Jamaica intervened in the foreign currency market for a third consecutive day on Thursday.
The central bank pumped US$30 million into the market through a B-FXITT flash sale.
This brings to US$90 million the total value of interventions since the start of the week.
At the end of Thursday's intervention, six banks and four cambios were successful.
CitiBank Jamaica, National Commercial Bank and JMMB Bank received the larger shares of the sum sold.
After that intervention, the Jamaican dollar gained 28 cents against the US currency.
Trading resumed Friday with banks and cambios selling the American dollar for an average $157.19.
The Canadian dollar is being sold for $116.18.
The average value of the pound is $197.07, while the Euro is going for $171.32.
