Guyana allocates $123m for humanitarian aid to CARICOM nations

Guyana says it will provide an estimated $123 million to support CARICOM countries as part of its humanitarian efforts in the Caribbean region and further afield.

The funding is part of $84 billion in supplementary funding to expand the work programmes under several ministries and agencies approved in the country's National Assembly on Thursday.

Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Minister Hugh Todd emphasised the government's support for regional stability, especially in light of the ongoing political and socio-economic situation in Haiti.
