Huge benefits to come from IPP investments, says Clarke

Finance Minister Dr. Nigel Clarke has asserted that Jamaica stands to benefit from millions of dollars in investment through public-private partnerships (PPPs).

Dr Clarke, speaking at Tuesday's signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with the International Finance Corporation for the provision of advisory services, said the projects about to go to market, are worth significant sums.

The IFC is a member of the World Bank Group, which assists developing countries to boost PPPs.

Ten projects have been earmarked for support under the MOU.

The IFC is to provide support to the Jamaican Government as it looks to attract both local and international bids for various projects.
