Karl Townsend, Chief Country Officer of the Group Capital Markets unit at the JMMB Group Limited, has asserted confidence that the JMMB Group Limited will be able to raise the US$250 million the CARICOM Heads of Government wants it to, in order to fund projects that will make the region more sustainable.
He also stressed that he expects to raise these funds by the first quarter of next year, based on the positive feedback his team has been receiving from the multilateral agencies with whom they have been having discussions in relation to the matter.
These projects involve investments in energy, water, irrigation, commercial and educational infrastructure right across the region.
The region is extremely vulnerable to natural disasters such as hurricanes and earthquakes.
The CARICOM Development Fund is the sponsor of the project; the Caribbean Sustainability Investments Limited is the issuer of the bond; JMMB Securities Limited is the lead broker and the technical adviser is the Bonds Initiative.
