Lumber Depot posts strong year-end performance

Lumber Depot is reporting a strong financial performance for the year ended April 30, 2026, despite challenges facing the construction sector.

The hardware retailer recorded net profits of $122.96 million on revenues of $1.56 billion.

Lumber Depot says its performance was achieved amid challenges including rising commodity prices, product availability issues and weaker consumer demand following Hurricane Melissa.

The company, which operates its flagship hardware store in Papine, says it has acquired property adjacent to its existing location as part of a strategic expansion plan.

Lumber Depot says the acquisition was financed through a combination of debt and internal resources contributing to higher financing costs and a reduction in after-tax profit compared to the previous year.

The company ended the financial year with $296 million in cash and cash equivalents, and says it remains focused on expansion, dividend payments and improving returns for shareholders.
