Mayberry plans to raise $3.3b with bond offer

Mayberry Jamaican Equities Limited (MJE) is looking to raise up to J$3.37 billion through a bond offer.

The Secured Bonds will be issued in three tranches, with a minimum purchase of J$20,000, and further increments of $10,000 thereafter.

The invitation will open on May 10, and is expected to run until June 7.

Each tranche offers $750 million at a rate of 9.25 per cent, 10 per cent and 10.5 per cent per annum, respectively.

The tenor for Tranche I is 13 months, Tranche II is 26 months, and Tranche III is 36 months.

Mayberry says the funds will be used to repay existing debt, expand its investment portfolio, and fund the Interest Reserve Account.

The Secured Bonds will be listed on the Bond Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange, subject to approval.
