The Planning Institute of Jamaica had disclosed that the MSME sector contributes forty per cent of GDP, employs more than a third of the labour force, and pays in excess of $80 billion in taxes.
Despite this, however, the sector faces serious financing challenges.
As a result, PSOJ president Metry Seaga is urging the financial sector to rethink its rigid lending requirements and better support entrepreneurs.
