Petrojam, the state owned oil refinery, which has a capital budget of US$15 million, says it will be spending a portion of this money to buy a new crane, with delivery expected in December.
This is in order to reduce its turnaround time and its dependence on external lifting services.
The company pointed out that this mobile overhead crane must have a minimum lifting capacity of 10 metric tonnes, specifically designed for workshop materials.
Petrojam's communication manager, Elon Parkinson, says this crane is urgently needed to help the workshop operations and routine lifting tasks.
