Prolonged period of slow growth projected for Latin America, Caribbean

The United Nations Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean is projecting a prolonged period of slow growth for the region.

It expects growth of 2.5 per cent this year and 2.3 per cent in 2026, similar to rates in 2023 and 2024.

In its latest report, Economic Survey of Latin America and the Caribbean 2025, ECLAC noted that the current forecast is slightly higher than the two per cent projected in April.
