Radio Jamaica, parent company of the RJRGLEANER Communications Group, has confirmed a series of Board and Board Committee changes, effective January 12, following a strategic review of its governance and oversight structures.
As part of the changes, Lisa Gaye Johnston, Dr. David McBean, Elizabeth Ann Jones, and Minna Israel have stepped down from the Board.
Four new directors have been appointed, bringing experience in law, governance, media, technology, and digital transformation. They are commercial attorney Novar Patrick McDonald; governance, risk, and compliance executive Judith Chung; international media and digital strategy executive Inés Pacheco; and technology leader Nicki Purcell.
The Board has also refreshed its committee structure to strengthen oversight in areas such as audit, risk and compliance, people and culture, digital strategy, and editorial standards.
Executive Chairman Joseph M. Matalon, in his statement on the matter, said the changes were aimed at strengthening governance and positioning the Group for future growth, while safeguarding editorial integrity.
