Sagicor Life now covers treatment of early-stage breast cancer and prostate cancer

Willard Brown, CEO, Sagicor Life, Jamaica

Sagicor Life Jamaica is expanding its critical illness coverage to include early-stage breast and prostate cancer.

Effective today, clients with eligible plans will receive partial payouts once diagnosed with early-stage forms of the diseases.

For breast cancer, the benefit applies to non-invasive cases such as ductal carcinoma in situ, while for prostate cancer, it applies to early stages T1A and T1B.

Clients may claim up to 25 per cent of their sum insured, with a maximum payout of $1.25 million.

Importantly, premiums will not increase, and the remaining insurance coverage remains intact for other conditions.

Sagicor Life CEO, Willard Brown says the move reflects the company's commitment to evolving with clients' needs, while encouraging early screening.

Chief Medical Officer Dr. Andrene Chung says the benefit covers cancers at the earliest stage, when they are non-invasive and highly treatable.

Mark Chisholm, Chief Revenue Officer at Sagicor, says the new feature will provide peace of mind and faster access to financial support, which can make a lifesaving difference.
