Scotiabank Jamaica Chairman Vernon Douglas

Minority shareholders of Scotia Group Jamaica Limited have voted to accept the revised takeover price of Scotiabank Caribbean Holdings Limited.

The revised offer is $75 per share.

The announcement was made at the company's Extraordinary General Meeting held on Wednesday evening.

Scotiabank Jamaica Chairman Vernon Douglas said an application is to be made to the court for approval.

"It is anticipated that the application will be heard by October 30th, 2026. If the court sanctions the scheme at the hearing, the scheme will become effective on the filing of a formal order with the Registrar of Companies and will publish notice of this on the Jamaica Stock Exchange website as well as Scotia Group Jamaica's website on the investor relations tab. If sanctioned, payments will be made to stockholders within 10 business days after the final order with the Registrar of Companies," he advised.
