In stock market trading on Friday, the JSE Main Index increased 2,601 points while the Junior Market fell 19 points.
The 47 shares which advanced were led by A.M.G. Packaging and Paper, Sterling Investments USD shares, Sygnus Real Estate Financial, QWI Investments and Sagicor Real Estate X Fund.
The declining shares included MPC Caribbean Clean Energy, Eppley 7.25 per cent, One Great Studio Company, Paramount Trading and Sterling Investments.
Fourteen stocks traded firm.
