The JSE index advanced 488 points, while the Junior market declined by 23 points.
Among the 41 winners were: Lasco Financial Services, tTech, Blue Power Group, Stanley Motta - Ordinary Shares and MFS Capital Partners.
The 53 losers included: Caribbean Cream, Dolla Financial Services, JFP, Caribbean Assurance Brokers and TransJamaican Highway - 8 per cent.
Nineteen stocks traded firm.
