TransJamaican Highway pays $0.17 dividend to shareholders

TransJamaican Highway Limited on Friday paid its over 31,000 shareholders, who held shares up to October 2, a dividend of $0.17 per share.

This follows its sterling financial performance during the second quarter, which ended on June 31 of this year.

During this period, the company generated net profits of US$11.6 million.

Its financial report for the period indicated that the net profits were US$8.7 million above the amount recorded during the same period of the previous year.

Revenues were US$7.5 million above the US$$20.5 million recorded during the previous year.

The main drivers of the growth in revenues and profits were the continuous traffic flows across its road network and the full quarter contribution of the phase one extension of the May Pen to Williamsfield leg of Highway 2000, which commenced commercial operations in December of last year.
