General Secretary of the Union of Clerical, Administrative and Supervisory Employees (UCASE), John Levy, says head of the Jamaica Reconstruction and Resilience Oversight Committee (JAMRROC), Professor Peter Blair Henry, must tell the country what role he played, if any, in the decision to rent two floors at the Digicel Building for $115 million annually for the National Reconstruction and Resilience Authority (NaRRA).
JAMRROC is the agency established to ensure that NaRRA operates in a prudent and transparent manner.
Speaking in an interview on Radio Jamaica's Real Business on Friday, Mr. Levy stressed that as a reputable international economist, Professor Blair Henry should understand the importance of locational analysis in the making of micro and macroeconomic decisions.
He argued that Professor Henry should advise the government that it would have been better to locate NaRRA in the Montego Bay Convention Centre.
This is because of its close proximity to the disaster area, as well as because it is owned by the Urban Development Corporation, which falls under the Office of the Prime Minister, and is woefully underutilised.
