48-hour curfew imposed in March Pen

A 48-hour curfew has been imposed in March Pen, Spanish Town in St Catherine. 

 

The curfew commenced on Friday and runs until 6:00 p.m., Sunday. 

 

The curfew runs north from the intersection of Salt Island Road and the Spanish Town Bypass at the stoplight to the intersection of White Church Street and Salt Pond Road in the vicinity of the stoplight 

 

It continues east from the intersection of White Church Street and Salt Pond Road in the vicinity of the stoplight traveling along Salt Pond Road  to the Toll Road at the Bridge. 

 

In the south, it runs from the Toll Road in the vicinity of the Bridge at Salt Pond Road to the end of the intersection between the Toll Road and Salt Island Road and west from the intersection of Salt Island Road and Toll Road traveling along Salt Island Roadway to the intersection of Salt Island Road and the Spanish Town Bypass.

 

The curfew was imposed following a series of shootings and homicides in the community this week.
