A 48-hour curfew has been imposed in sections of Marson Town, St. Mary, in response to a surge of gang activities in the area.

The curfew took effect at six o'clock Tuesday evening and will continue until 6:00 p.m., Thursday.

The police say the surge of gang activities in the area has increased the likelihood of shootings and other violent crimes.
