Almost all cays to close to reduce COVID-19 risk

The authorities have again closed all cays except for the Morant and Pedro Cays.

The cays had been closed up to February 1.

In a media release on Thursday, the Office of Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management (ODPEM) said the cays would again be closed from February 11 to February 26.

The ODPEM says no activities should take place at the locations.

It says the decision was made as part of efforts to reduce the risk of spreading COVID-19.

Lime and Maiden Cays off the coast of Kingston were initially closed in December following reports of breaches of COVID-19 protocols during the Christmas period.
