Another meeting today to resolve Windalco impasse

Another meeting is scheduled today (Thursday) between UC Rusal Alumina Jamaica Limited, operators of Windalco, and the Union of Clerical Administrative and Supervisory Employees (UCASE) to continue negotiations.

Wednesday's meeting reportedly ended in a stalemate.

UCASE represents more than 600 production workers at Windalco.

UCASE President Vincent Morrison told Radio Jamaica News that the company's reluctance to agree to the proposed wage increase is among the reasons for the breakdown of the latest meeting.

He declared that there could be another notice of industrial action if there's no progress in today's negotiations.
