One of the popular faces and voices on TVJ, Basil Brown, widely-known as Bagga Brown, is dead.
"Bagga" Brown died Saturday morning at the University Hospital of the West Indies, where he had been ailing for some time.
General Manager, Television Jamaica, Kay Osborne, says "Bagga" Brown's work was valued at TVJ.
“We loved him, we worked closely with him. He worked all over the island, loved and appreciated, with his "Wey You Say" programme that was rooted in his own Christian values. He reinforced the values we have at the station, we are determined to be a force for good for Jamaica. He will be sorely missed,” Miss Osborne said.
"Bagga" Brown gained national popularity for his Vox Pop programme "Wey You Say" on TVJ.
"Bagga" Brown was also a popular emcee, and an announcer on JBC Radio One.
The RJR/TVJ family wishes to express our condolences to Mr. Brown's family.
