'Bloodstain' charged in Molynes Road double murder

Detectives attached to the Major Investigations Division (MID), have laid charges against reputed gang leader, Courtney Ashley, otherwise called 'Bloodstain', in connection with a double murder along Molynes Road in St. Andrew, last year.
 
Ashley has been charged with the murder of a two-year-old child, Tajuan Jackson and 20-year-old Kimalie Powell otherwise called "Beans", a business operator of Grenmeade Road, Kingston 20. 
 
Ashley, who was pointed out on an identification parade on Monday, has also been charged with wounding with intent, possession of prohibited weapon, and possession of prohibited ammunition. 
 
Investigators reported that on Monday, September 15, 2025, the little boy was among a group of people sitting on a bench on Grenmeade Road when a white Nissan AD Wagon motor vehicle drove into the lane. 
 
Armed men alighted the vehicle and opened fire on the group. 
 
Three people sustained bullet wounds, including the little boy who was shot in the neck. 
 
They were rushed to hospital where the two-year-old boy and Mr. Powell were pronounced dead and the third victim admitted. 
 
Ashley, a reputed gang leader in Marverly, St. Andrew, was listed as the prime suspect. 
 
He was captured on January 12, 2026 during a police operation in Portmore, St. Catherine, after being listed as the country's most wanted fugitive.
 
He is facing charges for multiple counts of murder and shooting in connection with other incidents.
